AOL Buys TechCrunch

Yesterday I reported that AOL was in talks to buy TechCrunch, well that didn't take long.  News out of Silicon Valley is that TechCrunch will now be a part of the AOL family.

TechCrunch will be run as a wholly owned subsidiary of AOL Inc. with TechCrunch co-founder Michael Arrington being promised complete editorial freedom from AOL CEO Tim Armstrong.  Arrington has also promised to stay on board for at least 3 years.

No word yet on how much AOL Inc. paid but I am sure it was a pretty penny.  More to come......
