Apple Testing Touchscreen iMac?

According to DigiTimes Apple recently received a prototype iMac with touchscreen capabilities.  As you can see above, the iMac will be able to sit straight up like the current lineups of iMac's and will also be able move positions with the screen facing upwards for a more user friendly touchscreen experience.

According to the report, Sintek Photronics is utilizing projected capacitance touch technology for the panels.

Projected capacitive touch panels are typically produced by placing touch sensors over the panel, and then a cover glass over the sensors. The conventional method is not only costly and complex, but affects display brightness.....and its projected capacitive touch panel will adopt a one-glass solution, which integrates the touch sensor and cover glass, to reduce thickness and weight.

Expect that if this does get released that a launch date will be sometime in 2011, at the earliest.
